A recent call to artists inspired me to create a series of prints integrating text and image. The Literate Print invited artists to create work encorporating words or inspired by the written word. I used this as an opportunity to explore the graphic power of the letterforms and I selected phrases from Ovid’s Metamorphoses.

Par Avion
Finished……… continuing the dialog, when I received my piece back from Strasbourg I was pleasantly surprised to find the exquisite pencil drawing over my abstract background. It hung in my studio for several weeks while I debated what to do. At first I thought the piece was finished and then I felt impelled to continue the story. I created a monotype image of a woman based on a drawing I did. She matches in some respect his inward gaze. I am so curious to know what my counterpart in Strasbourg will think. On view soon.
